At its initiative and finance Jamuna Bank Foundation organized a "Scholarship giving ceremony" to unprivileged and autistic but meritorious students and the children of employees of Jamuna Bank who have got GPA-5 in SSC and Dakhil in 2018 at IDEB, Kakrail, Dhaka recently. Engineer A.K.M Mosharraf Hussain, Chairman, Jamuna Bank graced the occasion as Chief Guest and presented scholarships to 116 students. Recently in a Board Meeting Mr. Kanutosh Majumder was elected as Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Board. Alhaj Md. Sirajul Islam Varosha was elected as the Chairman of Risk Management Committee and Mr. Md. Rafiqul Islam was elected as the chairman of Audit Committee of the Board. Engr. Mosharraf Hussain is elected chairman of Jamuna Bank Ltd with the consent of the 327th board meeting on April 26, 2018 . Engr. Mosharraf Hussain was born in a respectable Muslim family of Kazipur Upazilla situated in Sirajgonj district. After completing his schooling in Kazipur R.D. High School, he moved to Rajshahi for completing his Intermediate of Science from Rajshahi Government College. Upon completion of his I.Sc, he moved to Dhaka to pursue his Bachelor in Civil Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET). During his student life, he started his own small business with his brother and after completing his graduation, he began his journey into the business world by starting up his own construction firm, The Civil Engineers Ltd. Later, he diversified into the garments sector which is today one of the top readymade garments manufacturer and exporter of the country. Currently he is the Managing Director of Standard Group, Chairman of The Civil Engineers Ltd., Chairman of AMANN Bangladesh Ltd. (a Bangladesh?Germany joint venture company) and was the Founder Chairman of Standard Insurance Ltd. He was a CIP for numerous years. Presently, he is also working on many new projects in diversifying into various new industries. He served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Jamuna Bank Limited from 2002 to 2003.
